STREETLORDS™
Street Lords™ is a collection of original, hand-crafted urban aristocrats based on my sketches from life in New York City. These colorful characters are the real royalty of New York City. 20 hand-crafted characters with each owning a piece of the street. The Street Lords™ collection is our homage to those who occupy the streets and make it what it is: loud, proud and vibrant!

Rosie the
Messenger of Masses

In the middle of Times Square, you hear a roar over the crowds... SURRENDER! Warn the town; the beast is loose, and her primal scream is heard above the masses, the cars, and the horns. A ring around Rosie as the audience is fueled by the words of enlightenment. Broadcasting thru the streets to become one with the now because the mind stops when you are present. Dreaming of riches, in a position of makin' a difference. Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen. SURRENDER! SURRENDER! SURRENDER!
Variant Series (2022)
STREETLORDS™
The characters that feature in each artwork are loosely derived from my original doodles, which were in turn inspired by the faces of people I encountered at various locales throughout Manhattan. Drawing upon the old European concept of a hierarchical ranking system for royalty that still persists in some quarters of New York City, I infused each character with a distinct personality, incorporating the names of my friends to further embellish their unique identities.
To complement the visual impact of each artwork, I created a short, rhythmic story for every character, drawing inspiration from hip-hop instrumentals. While this brief synopsis only hints at the rich and nuanced meaning behind each artwork, it serves as a brief overview of the intricate creative process that informed the Streetlords series.
Transition Series (2023)
STREETLORDS™
Utilizing a series of hand-drawn contour drawings of the Street Lords as a foundation, I advanced from the initial sketches to generate AI variations. By utilizing the sketches as the input materials, the output from the AI technology produced truly impressive illustrated renditions. Subsequently, I refined the illustrations using Adobe Illustrator to achieve a polished final product.
